WW2 German Extreemly Rare Generaloberst (Colonel General) Original Insignia Set
WW2 Generaloberst Insignia set (missing one shoulder board). Some mothing on collar tabs and back of shoulder board. Insignia shows its age, signs of being uniform removed (cut threads and stitching holes) and ware from use. Generaloberst is one of the rarest ranks to find! Generaloberst was the second highest General Officer rank in the German Wehrmacht, also the highest ordinary military rank of the Third Reich. The higher rank of General Field Marshal was awarded only in wartime by the head of state. In general, a Generaloberst had the same privileges as a General Field Marshal. Only 36 men held Generaloberst rank during the Third Reich. This set would make an amazing display framed and hung in a shadow box or to complete a General’s tunic.
