A really beautiful example of a WW2 German Labour Front (DAF) Soldiers Mess Bowl. Very well marked with the cog surrounding the swastika and makers mark below.
The DAF or German Labour Force, were created to replace the trade unions in Germany during National Socialist power as they had banned all trade unions. The Beauty of Labour (Schönheit der Arbeit) was a propaganda organization of the NSDAP from the period 1934 to its eventual disbandment in 1945. One of its principle functions was workplace design and the beautification of the German work environment
