ROBERT LEY (1890-1945) Nazi politician, virulent anti-Semite, and head of the German Labor Front. Ley ruthlessly enforced slave labor policies, and committed suicide in his jail cell at Nuremburg while awaiting trial. The booklet, Roosevelt Betrays America! is written by Ley and published by the German Labor Front, 30pages. It bears a cover illustration of Franklin D. Roosevelt with an American flag behind him, the flag being drawn downwards by a caricature of a Jew. Within, almost every "negative" aspect of American society as perceived by the Nazis is laid at Roosevelt's feet, with the knowing complicity of Jews. F.D.R. is shown with LaGuardia, Henry Morgenthau, and a group of Shriners, Eleanor Roosevelt is shown with two black soldiers, several caricatures depict Jews, and Roosevelt is blamed for everything from the Depression and gangsterism to a woman being crowned a "Turkey Queen".
